Food

This is a list from Wolfgang's West Coast Trail book for a 7-day hike.  Remember that the trail is unpredictable and you might end up staying longer than you had planned so pack a bit of extra food.

o 1.5kg granola person
o 1 can pumpernickel bread per person
o peanut butter, jam
o hard cheese
o bacon bits (prepared before heading out)
o magarine/butter
o honey
o assorted spices (packed in re-sealable plastic bags)
o pre-mixed dry dough ingredients
o assorted trekking meals: pasta with cheese sauce, vegetarian risotto, pea soup, potato-vegetable stew with tofu, pasta with pesto sauce, chicken curry with ice, pasta with tomato sauce
o snacks: beef jerky, 2 power/energy bars per person per day, trail-mix, dried fruit
o coffee, tea, energy drink
